New Hampshire’s rich aviation history is now on display at the Slusser Aviation Learning Center. From the pioneering use of hot air balloons for reconnaissance during the Civil War, to the design of the compact racing BeeGee airplane, to Christa McAuliffe’s fateful flight on the space shuttle Challenger, New Hampshire natives have made significant contributions and sacrifices to the field of aviation. Exhibits including scale models, airplane and jet engines, flight simulators, and original drawings are complemented by vibrant graphics and interpretive displays.
